Mike Hayward CPA CA CPA (Illinois)

Biography

Mike graduated from the University of Ottawa with his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Accounting degree in 1999. Mike obtained his CA designation in 2000 and his U.S. CPA (Illinois) designation in 2005, and furthered his knowledge by completing the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 2006. Previously a Principal with the Firm, Mike became a partner in 2013 and was named managing partner in 2021.

For the first fourteen years of Mike's career, he worked in increasingly senior roles at a big four accounting firm, focusing on cross-border tax matters, with a focus on employees working on temporary assignments throughout the world, particularly in Canada and the United States. Specializing in providing cross-border income tax advice to individuals and corporations, Mike's oversees the firm's cross-border tax practice. He also provides a number of tax, wealth, retirement, and financial management planning services, with the added benefit of understanding the impact of such planning in a cross-border context.
